President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze and member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mrs. Irine Imerlishvili paying a working visit in Vilnius

The President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze and a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mrs. Irine Imerlishvili are paying a working visit in Vilnius.  They are participating in the International Conference “The role of the Constitutional Courts of Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Lithuania and Ukraine in Ensuring the Implementation and Protection of the Principles of the Rule of Law in the Context of Regional Challenges”.

At the Conference the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze made a speech on the importance and role  of the rule of law principle in the process of constitutional adjudication.

In the frame of the visit, the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze met with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Mrs. Dalia Grybauskaitė. At the meeting, attended by the President of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania, Ukraine and Moldova the importance of independent Constitutional Courts in building the Democratic State, ongoing legal  reforms in “Eastern Partnership Countries”, the role of the Constitutional Courts in ensuring rule of law principle  were discussed. The President of the Republic of Lithuania confirmed full support towards the Constitutional Courts and expressed readiness to continue a partnership cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania. 

 On October 25, 2017 the Georgian Delegation will attend an official reception dedicated to 25th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, to be hosted by the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania
