Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Georgia meets with the Representatives of Vatican
The Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Georgia is meeting with the representatives of Vatican today. On December 7, the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze, Vice-President Ms. Lali Papiashvili and Member of the Court Ms. Irine Imerlishvili met with the Cardinal Dominique Mamberti, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signature of Vatican. Cardinal Dominique Mamberti formerly occupied the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vatican and visited Georgia in this capacity in 2014. The representatives of the Constitutional Court of Georgia also met with Priest Piero Gallo, Attaché to the Secretary of State of Vatican City (The Holy See). At the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of institutional and legal relationship between the state and the church.
On December 10, 2016 Mr. Zaza Tavadze will attend the 109th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission and will deliver a speech on the current development of the Constitutional Justice in Georgia.
The meeting with the President of the Venice Commission Mr. Gianni Buquicchio is also planned in the framework of the visit.
