From July 24 to August 4, 2016 the Constitutional Court of Georgia in cooperation with the School of Law at Ilia State University is holding the Summer School on Constitutional and Human Rights Law with the financial support of the EU-Funded project “Support to the Constitutional Court of Georgia” and the program financed by the USAID for Supporting Rule of Law in Georgia (EWMI/PROLoG).
Official opening of the Summer School was held on July 26, 2016 at 12.00. Participants of the School were welcomed by the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. George Papuashvili. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Dean of School of Law at Iliauni Irakli Porchkhidze and project manager Peter Denis, Delegation of the European Union to Georgia.
During 10 days the participants of the Summer School will be delivered the lectures in Constitutional and Human Rights Law by the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. George Papuashvili, Professor Richard Vogler (Sussex University); Erin Sheley (University of Calgary), Prof. Bridget Arimond (Northwestern University), Professor Philip Leach (Middlesex University London), Dr Tamara Takács (Senior Researcher in EU law), George Mshvenieradze (Free Uni), Giorgi Chitidze (Specialist of Human Rights) and the representatives of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
Summer School aims at increasing professional knowledge of future lawyers in constitutional and human rights law.
The Summer School the Constitutional Court of Georgia and Ilia State Unievrsity has been held for the ninth time.
