President of The Constitutional Court Delivers Speech at Cultural Diplomacy Academy Event in Berlin
President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Zaza Tavadze, is in Berlin, where he is participating in a high-level forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The event is organized by the Academy of Cultural Diplomacy.
President of the Constitutional Court delivered a speech to the forum participants and drew attention to the epochal changes that took place in Central and Eastern European countries in the 1990s, inspired by the events that took place in Berlin 30 years ago. In his address, Zaza Tavadze noted that the existence of effective constitutional control is of great importance for strengthening the democratic transformation in the region. In this regard, Zaza Tavadze spoke about the role of the Constitutional Court in the process of consolidating the rule of law in Georgia. The message also conveyed that for Georgia, the demolition of the Berlin Wall is a symbolic example that artificial barriers are temporary and the occupation of our country will end.
The forum is attended by high-ranking officials from various countries and international organizations. The visit of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court will end on November 8.
