Vasil Roinishvili

Vice President, Chairperson of the First Board of the Constitutional Court of Georgia

 Born on February 1, 1977  in Tbilisi.

He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili State University (1999), majoring in jurisprudence.

In 2000 - Deputy Head of the Personnel and Legal Education Department of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

In 2000-2002, he was the head of the Department of Personnel Affairs of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, the Division of Staffing of Penitentiary Bodies.

In 2002-2003, he held the position of Head of the Enforcement Proceedings Division of the Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

In 2003, he was the head of the Personnel Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

In 2004, he worked in the Ministry of State Security of Georgia.

In 2004 - 2006, he was the head of the Department of Staffing of the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia; Head of Personnel Department.

In 2006-2008, he was the prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

In 2008-2009, he was the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Georgia.

In 2009, he was a member of the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia.

In 2009 - 2020, he was a judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia (at different times he was a judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, chairman of the Chamber of Civil Affairs, chairman of the Chamber of Administrative Affairs, deputy chairman of the Supreme Court).

On May 29, 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia by Resolution No. 28/Plen of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Georgia. From June 17 of the same year, from the day of taking the oath, he began to exercise the powers of a judge.

On June 25, 2020, he was elected by the Plenum of the Constitutional Court of Georgia as the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court and the Chairman of the First Board.

He speaks Russian, German and English.
