Zaza Tavadze was on a working visit to Moldova

President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Zaza Tavadze, and the Chief Advisor of the Department of Legal Support and Research, Giorgi Sulkhanishvili, were on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova, where they participated in events related to the 25th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Georgia attended the international conference - “Constitutional Justice and Public Reaction: When the Majority of Society Disagrees with the Decisions of Constitutional Courts.” The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, judges of constitutional courts from Europe, and representatives of academic circles.

Zaza Tavadze held a meeting in the format of the Association of Constitutional Justices of the Baltic and Black Sea Regions (BBCJ) with the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Turcan. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania, Danius Žalimas. The parties discussed the close cooperation between the member constitutional courts and discussed the possibility of its development.

Zaza Tavadze also held a face-to-face meeting with the Chairman of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, Gianni Buquicchio. The parties discussed the cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Georgia and the Venice Commission.

The visit took place on February 19-20 of this year.
